If you want to get an assessment or think you need treatment for substance abuse or addiction, first call your insurance provider.
If you have MinnesotaCare or Medical Assistance and you are:
- a member of a health plan, call your health plan member services to find out where to go for an assessment or treatment. Also ask if there are benefit limits.
- not in a health plan, call the number on the back of your MHCP member card to find out where to go for an assessment or treatment. Also ask if there are benefit limits.
If you have other health insurance:
- call your insurance and ask if they will pay for a chemical dependency assessment and treatment. Ask where to go for each and if there are benefit limits.
If you do not have insurance or your insurance will not pay for an assessment or treatment:
- Click here to find your county office and ask for help getting a Rule 25 assessment and paying for treatment.
